Catherine Elizabeth (Mosiello) Cavalieri

We mourn the death of our beloved Catherine Elizabeth 'Kitty'  a long-time resident of the Tarrytowns. She passed away on May 29, 2016 after receiving comfort care at the Hudson Valley Hospital, Cortlandt Manor, NY. 

Born on February 23, 1923 in Tarrytown, NY to Concetta and Stanislau Mosiello, Catherine was one of thirteen children.  She graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1939, where she was drum majorette.  Later she worked as a secretary for a local law firm.  On June 4, 1944, she married John Cavalieri of North Tarrytown where they remained in residence until moving to Pleasantville in 1960.  They were married for 54 years.

Catherine loved her large family and ran the active household organizing outings and yearly summer vacations with joy and ease.  In addition to being a great cook, she loved to paint, sew, draw, crochet, and play cards, while rooting for the Yankees and New York Knicks.

She is survived by her six children and spouses, Jo (Peppy) Baker of Scottsdale, AZ; Rita Jackson of Fernandina Beach, FL; Patricia Cavalieri of Tarrytown, Carol Arrucci (Ray) of Ossining, John Cavalieri (Anne Marie) of Holbrook, NY and Joseph Cavalieri of New York, NY; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Viviano, Dania, FL; brother- in-law, Angelo Cavalieri, Briarcliff Manor and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Anne Mosiello, Newport News, VA and Gloria Cavalieri, Sleepy Hollow.

She was predeceased by her husband John in 1998, daughter Catherine in 2001, three brothers and eight sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday at Coffey Funeral Home.  Mass for Catherine will be at 10:00 am Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church Sleepy Hollow.  Burial will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
