Bridget (Cushen) Connelly

Bridget Christina Cushen-Connelly, age 54, of Tarrytown, NY passed away peacefully on Monday January 30, 2017 at her home with her family and friends at her side.

Bridget was born in the Bronx, NY to Michael and Philomena Cushen on December 29, 1962. Bridget was a lifelong resident of Tarrytown and parishioner of Transfiguration Church. She graduated Sleepy Hollow High School in 1981 and went on to receive a nursing degree from Elizabeth Seton (Iona) College.

Bridget was married to Kevin Connelly on September 29, 1984 and they had two children; Ellen and James.

Bridget worked as a nurse for many years at the Andrus Home in Hastings as well as Cabrini and Schnurmacher. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Bridget was also actively involved in Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years and truly enjoyed her time with the corps and the lasting friendships she made.

Bridget is survived by her husband Kevin, son James, daughter Ellen (Ryan) Nyarady, grandson Michael, mother Philomena Cushen, brother Michael Cushen and sister Mary Ellen (John) Nussbeutel as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Bridget was predeceased by her father Michael Cushen.

The family of Bridget wishes to thank Phelps Hospice and all the medical professionals who helped in Bridget’s care over the past years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday February 3 from 4PM to 8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at Transfiguration Church at 10:00 with entombment to follow in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
