Antonio Iannarelli

Antonio Iannarelli died surrounded by his family on September 6, 2017. Born on May 27, 1933 in Barisciano, Italy to Vincenzo and Teresa Iannarelli, Antonio (Tony) arrived in New York when he was 21 where he later met and married Domenica Scipioni (Iannarelli), his wife of over 60 years. They lived in Croton-on-Hudson, NY until 1974 and then moved to Tarrytown, NY. Tony and Domenica were proud parents of 5 sons and a daughter. 

Tony began working in New York City where he excelled in his knowledge of acoustical ceilings and was soon appointed foreman for construction projects at many famous buildings such as the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the Twin Towers. After 25 years of working as a foreman, Tony established his own company, Tony Iannarelli and Sons Construction in Westchester County. Tony had a very strong work ethic; if he wasn’t working on client projects, he was improving his own houses.

Some of his best times were spent on his scenic property in the Catskill Mountains in NY. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and telling stories of long ago (and not so long ago) on the back porch overlooking the mountains. He loved the area because it was reminiscent of growing up in the Apennine Mountains of the Abruzzo region of Italy.

Family was of utmost importance to him. Tony is survived by his children, Vincent of Tarrytown, NY, Theresa (Scott) of Briarcliff Manor, NY, Anthony (Laura) of Sleepy Hollow, NY, Peter of Beacon, NY and Danny (Dia) of Pound Ridge, NY, his loving grandchildren, Emily, Jon, Ava, Ashley, and Jennifer (Peter) Parente: great grandchildren, Peter Jr. and Amelia Parente; his brother Luciano (Anna) of Italy as well as countless cousins, nieces and nephews around the world.

Tony is predeceased by his son, Eric and his wife, Domenica. 

Tony’s family will have a Mass of Christian Burial in his honor on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:30 am at Church of the Magdalene, 525 Bedford Road, Tarrytown, NY.
