Anna Marie Koval, age 93, passed away 13 Feb 2013 at Cimarron Place in Corpus Christi. She was born on 31 Aug 1919 to Stephan Fuchek II and Agnes Shroba in Demjata, Czechoslovakia. She was taken to New York at the age of three by her mother through Ellis Island and became an American citizen. After living briefly with her family in Ohio and Masaryktown, Florida, the family settled in North Tarrytown, New York.  She finished her schooling there, and lived there for the remainder of her life.  Due to failing health, she moved to Corpus Christi, TX in June 2012 to be nearer to her daughter, Barbara Koval Reischman.

Anna married George Koval, her husband of 57 years on 13 July 1941 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Tarrytown, New York.  They would remain active, faithful parishioners of that church until it closed.  After it closed, they registered as Parishioners of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Tarrytown.

Anna was employed by the Fisher Body automobile plant in North Tarrytown in the late 1950's. Later that plant combined with Chevrolet at the same location under General Motors.  She continued to work for the North Tarrytown plant as a keypuch operator and office clerk until she retired in mid 1970's after 17 years of employment.

After her retirement, Anna focused on her family primarily caring for her disabled son, Charles.  In the final years of her life, their roles changed and Charles became her constant companion and 24 hours a day care-giver.

Anna was a deeply religious person and very active with the Holy Cross Catholic Church throughout her life.  She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, rising to Regent, and a member of the Alter and Rosary Society.  She was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA) and was Treasurer for Branch #264 in Sleepy Hollow, NY.  She belonged to the National Sokol, the ladies organization of the Eagles, and volunteered with local blood drives and voter registrations.  For all of her active life, she contributed to her family, church, and local community in North Tarrytown / Sleepy Hollow.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Stephan Fuchek II and Agnes Shroba; her daughter Ann Marie Koval; her sister Helena Fuchek, and her brother Maximilian (Max) Fuchek.

She is survived by her son, Charles F Koval, and daughter, Barbara K Reischman from Corpus Christi; and her grandchildren Michael Reischman, Atlanta, GA; Richard Reischman, Tustin, CA; and Mary R Teoh, Santa Monica, CA. Also by her sister, Agnes Jackman of Tarrytown, NY, and three brothers, Frank and Jane Fucheck, Conroe, TX; Steve and Alice Fucheck, Spring Hill, FL, and Fr Bob Fucheck, Lady Lake, FL.

Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm on Thursday at Coffey Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, 22 Feb 2013, at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Tarrytown, NY. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
