Ann M. (Meacle) Swanson

Ann M. Swanson, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died January 4, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Tarrytown on June 11, 1926, she was the daughter of Robert and Anna Kelly Meacle. She graduated from St. Teresa’s School and North Tarrytown High School. On February 27, 1948, she married Carl Gustave Swanson in St. Teresa’s Church.

As Ann was raising her own family, she was a Foster Parent for Catholic Charities. Over the very many years, she cared for countless numbers of new born infants.

Ann is survived by her children Douglas (Lynn) of Florida, Dennis (Pam) of Warwick, NY, Kerry of Tarrytown, Sondra (Patrick) Lofaro of Windham, NH and BethannYano of New Windsor, NY.  She was also the proud grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 17.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Carl in 2006, her brother Matthew Meacle and her son-in-law Ed Yano.

There will be no visitation. Her Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
